‘Always Was Always Will Be / Palestine Will Be Free’: Poster Fundraiser

The ‘Always Was Always Will Be / Palestine Will Be Free’ posters are a set of two risograph printed A3 posters, designed by Safa El Samad, Dennis Grauel and Louis Mokak, with translation assistance from Loor Awwad. 

Originally created for First Nations Futures ‘Tis the Season for Solidarity’ campaign, a second print run will raise funds for First Nations Futures nine partner initiatives, and three Palestinian organisations selected through engagement with Palestinian community members. All funds raised will be split 50/50 between First Nations and Palestinian organisations.

50% of funds raised will go to:

First Nations Futures, a First Nations economic justice organisation  redistributing wealth and power to First Nations community-led initiatives creating intergenerational change. First Nations Futures will distribute its funds entirely to their nine partner initiatives driving impact that centres young people, cultural governance and regenerative practices. 

The other 50% will go to: 

Palestine Australia Relief and Action (PARA), an organisation supporting Palestinian migrants and refugees arriving in ‘australia’ to help achieve their full potential – free from the barriers created by conflict and displacement. 

The Sit-Intifada Action Fund, a new fund which will support Palestinian community organisers in ‘melbourne’ with resources necessary to run actions that push for a free Palestine and an end to the israeli occupation. 

Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), an international not-for-profit providing direct humanitarian and medical aid to children in Gaza.

Printed in three colours each on A3 80gsm Envi Recycled paper, the posters are sold as a set of two with sliding scale pricing. Posters can be mailed either folded in an envelope ($5 delivery) or rolled in a tube ($10 delivery).

Local pickup is also available for free on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country (coburg) from Schoolhouse Studios on Mondays, 10am–6pm.

Over the last couple of months Zenobia Ahmed, Dennis Grauel and Safa El Samad have been running risograph poster making and embroidery workshops to raise awareness about the ongoing genocide of Palestinian people and occupation of Palestinian land by ‘israel’. A small initial print run of the ‘Always Was Always Will Be / Palestine Will Be Free’ posters were distributed freely prior to this fundraiser. 

We pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the unceded land on which this project has been created: the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people. And pay our respects to the neighbouring clan, the Boon Wurrung people and all other clans of the Eastern Kulin nation. We honour those living and gone before, here and across the continent, for their enduring strength to resist settler colonial violence, protect Country and carry culture across generations.
